All my fans are heading back to school. Time for me to get back to business.
I spent most of this week working on a book about bicycling in Portland. Portland is a great city for bicycling. You see bicycles everywhere. Sometimes there are more bikes on the street than cars. The story I’m working on focusing on a character who wants a grown-up bike. There are so many different kinds of bikes. How is one to choose?
My favorite part was doing the research about different bicycles. Some are very different! I ride one of the most different of all: a recumbent trike. It’s a Catrike 700. Click HERE to check out some images. It’s low to the ground and fast. I’ve thought about fitting it out with a fairing when the rains come. Then it would really look like a flying saucer. What’s a fairing? I’m glad you asked. Click HERE
My editor, Michelle McCann, and I cooked up a real surprise at the end. What is it?
Well, you’ll have to read the book when it comes out. I’d tell you the title, except right now we’re not quite sure what we’re going to call it.
Putting a book together takes an awful lot of time and thought. The writing is the easy part.
